Bill Lawler

November 7, 1950 — December 23, 2010

Funeral services for Bill Lawler, 60, of Frisco (formerly of Gainesville) are set for Wednesday December 29, 2010 at 11 AM at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Don Yeager officiating.  Burial will follow in the Sadler Cemetery under the direction of Geo J Carroll & Son Funeral Home.  Bill went to be with the Lord Thursday December 23, 2010 in Plano.

Bill was born November 7, 1950 in Bowie to Roy William and Mary Faye Dunn Lawler, Sr.
After graduating from Saint Jo High School Bill attended NCTC and received his B.S. degree from East Texas State University in Commerce.  Bill married Patsy Belsher on September 30, 1978.
Bill was in the banking business for many years beginning at the First National Bank of Saint Jo, TX followed by 15 years at the First State Bank of Gainesville.  Upon leaving Gainesville, Bill worked for his current employer Jack Henry and Associates of Allen, Texas.

Bill began community service at an early age as a member of the Saint Jo Volunteer Fire Department and the Saint Jo City Council. While residing in Gainesville, Bill was a member of the Optimist Club and the Lake Kiowa Fire Department. He served on several boards including the Cooke County Heart Association, the Gainesville Parks and Recreation Board, and the NCTC Lions Baseball Booster Club.
Bill's most treasured title was that of Uncle Bill to Joe and Monica, Laura, Barry and Jackson, Bart, Jana and Caroline, Bret, Ashley and Carter, Troy, Holly, and numerous others who were so special to him.

Bill will be remembered for his sense of humor (corny jokes), his generosity, and his kind heart.   He went out in a blaze of glory!

Bill is survived by his wife Patsy, his father Roy, his sisters and brothers -in- law Peggy and Tommy Farris, Sarah and Larry Beck, Nancy and Ed Langham, and their families He was preceded in death by his mother, his mother and father -in - law, and Rolex.
