Funeral services for Cecil Sawyer 81, of Gainesville are set for Friday December 31 ,2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Geo. J. Carroll and Son Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Hollis Parsons officating with burial to follow in the Reed cemetery.The family will receive friends on Thursday December 30, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.Mr. Sawyer was of Baptist faith.

Cecil was born January 13, 1929 in Gordon Tx to Thomas and Bertha Welty Sawyer. He was a Korean war Veteran and was employed as a parts manager for serveral Chevorlet dealerships .Cecil loved riding horses and driving the buggy he restored, watching westerns, had a great sense of humor and loved to enterian family and friends with food and loved Granny's cooking

He is survived by his wife of 32 years Ruth Sawyer of Gainesville, Children Randy and Bev Sawyer of Whitesboro Tx, Traci Shelstead of Muskogee Ok., Linda Kinsey of Euless Tx, Joe and Danita Ortowski of Callisburg Tx, Ronald and Dorian Ortowski of Garland Tx, Frank and Rene' Ortowski of Callisburg tx, Eddie and Kris Ortowski of Collinsville Tx. Cecil also has 20 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Bertha Sawyer, his first wife Era Faye, a daughter Glenda Belcher, brother James Sawyer and a sister Naomi Gilcrest. You may sign the on line registry at geojcarroll.com.
