Cliff Howe

Funeral Services for Cliff Howe, 88, of Gainesville, are set for 2:00 pm Thursday January 13, 2010 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. A visitation is set for 7:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday January 12, 2010 at the funeral home.

Cliff was born in Grand Rapids, MI on October 13, 1922 to Harold and Florence Cummins Howe. Mr. Howe passed away Monday January 10, 2010 in Dallas surrounded by his family. He served in the US Army infantry in the 103rd Infantry Battalion.. He met Billye Lu Barnhart while stationed at Camp Howze and later married her on August 31, 1946. Cliff enjoyed woodworking, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by son and daughter in law Mike and Susan Howe of Gainesville, son and daughter in law Tim and Gail Howe of Richland, WA, daughter Jill Dugger of Gainesville, and a son and daughter in law Pat and Stacy Howe of Aubrey. He is also survived by his granchildren Mikah, Marlye, Amy, Brandon, Brian, Blair, Josh, Mandi, Sarah, Steven, Charlie, Julie, and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Cliff was preceded in death by his parents, wife Billye Howe, one brother, two sisters, and a son in law Calvin Dugger.

Pallbearers will be Josh Dugger, Steven Howe, Charlie Howe, Robert Proffer, Randlow Smith, and Erin Marler.
