Doreen Wilson

Graveside services for Doreen I. Wilson, 85, of Gainesville, are set for 2:00 pm Friday February 11, 2011 at the Fairview cemetery in Gainesville with the Rev. Bill Black officiating. A visitation will be held from 6:00 - 7:00 pm Thursday February 10, 2011 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Doreen was born on February 5, 1926 in Gainesville to William J. and Caroline Haubert McCracken. She was in the Gainesville circus and worked in food service at NCTC until retiring in 1991. She was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church in Gainesville and member of the Order of Eastern Star. Doreen loved to travel, enjoyed walking and watching birds.

Doreen is survived by her son and daughter in law Les and Janie Wilson of Lindsay, daughter Vickie Davis of Krum, daughter and son in law Pam and Benny Strong of Gainesville, grandchildren Joey Wilson and his wife Amanda, Alyssa Strong, Jalynn Burnes and her husband Will, Amber Strong, and Jennifer Barna, great grandchildren Carter Wilson, Abigail Wilson, Sydney Barna, Megan Barna, Miranda Armstrong, and Makayla Runnels. She is also survived by her brother and sister in law John and Paula McCracken of Plano, niece Pat Witcher, dearest friend Wanda Henry and many other nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Carl Wilson Jr. in 1965, her parents, and sisters Pansy Libby, Virginia Armstrong, and Adelaide McCracken.
