Terry Herrmann

Memorial service for Terry Lewis Herrmann age 77, of Gainesville are set for Monday March 7, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Whaley United Methodist Church with Dr. Chuck Aaron officating, the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Church .Arrangements are under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll and Son Funeral Home.

Terry was born from the love and marriage of Ted and Hazelee Herrmann on July 26, 1933. He grew up in an era of carefree life, and attended Gainesville schools thru his graduation from GHS in 1951, where he was a well - respected leader, being the captain of the football team, a member of the band ,he was a clown in the Gainesville Community Band and a campus favorite. He furthered his education and played football for TCU and Kilgore Jr. College. On April 8, 1954 he and Ginger Greenwood were married at the Whaley Methodist Church. To that marriage were born four children Randy, Marty, Jana and Laura. Terry's career began working for the Free Press, then Southwestern Bell Telephone, Southwestern Life Insurance Co., then he purchased the Free Press and then he became a real estate broker and Appraiser in which he engaged in for several years.

Terry's main loves in life were his God, his family, his friends, golf and fishing. His spirit lives on in his wife Ginger, his children son Marty Herrmann and his wife Shari, daughters Jana Herrmann Portales and her husband Larry, and Laura Herrmann Salazar and her husband Roger, grandaughters Whitney and Campbell Herrmann and grandson Mason Salazar.

Greeting him in heaven are his son Randy Herrmann, his parents Ted and Hazelee Herrmann, his grandparents Jack and Amy Lewis, Albert and Novie Herrmann and Gingers Parents Fred and Lois Greenwood.
