Olen Spencer Bevers

Funeral services for Olen Spencer Bevers 77, of Valley View Tx are set for Wednesday March 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Geo. J. Carroll and Son Chapel with Rev. David Hartwig and Rev. Milton Pledger officating with burial to follow in the Tyson Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday March 22, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Bevers passed away on March 18,2011 in Denton.

Olen was born on December 16, 1933 in Cooke County to Painter S. and Mary Gertrude Isbell Bevers. Olen was a graduate of North Texas State College and honorably served as a medic in the United States Army. Olen married Linda Wright on July 6, 1978. He also served as a teacher and prinicpal, operated a gas station and also served as a sales representive for the Mobil oil company, but his true love was being a wheat and hay farmer while also raising horses and cattle. Mr. Bevers was an active member and inspriation at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.

Olen is survived by his wife Linda Bevers, sons Scott Allen Bevers and Mark Olen and his wife Caroline Bevers, step daughter Lisa Williams and step son Terry Glen Williamson. Grandchildren Martin Spencer Bevers, Tera Lynne Bevers, Tabatha Williamson, Austyn Williams, Taylor Williams, Madison Williams and Jennifer Williamson. Brother Roy Dwain and his wife Annetta Bevers, Sister in law Shirley Clement and Karen " Cakey " and her husband Wayne Rachel, Brother in law Don Wright and serveral nieces and nephews including Elliot Bevers and Lauren LaCene. He was preceded in death by his parents, Brother in law Guy Clement and sister in law Peggy Wright.
