Donna Bass

Funeral services for Donna Bass age 80, of Gainesville are set for Friday April 29, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Geo. J. Carroll and Son Chapel with Reverend Roslyn Eugster officating with burial to follow in the Callisburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.Donna passed away on April 26, 2011 at her home.

Donna was born on July 22, 1930 in Cooke County to James B. and Laura Francis Martin Cason. Donna owned the Black Gold Cafe and later worked at the State School in Gainesville. She was a member of the Mission United Methodist Church, Eastern Star Chapter # 1123 of Gainesville, a board member of the Cooke County Child Welfare Board and a active member for 48 yrs in Alcoholics Anonymous and the Anchor Club in Gainesville. Donna was a avid world traveler and enjoyed her travels with family and friends.

Donna is survived by three daughters Jimmie Almon, Jacquie Cason and Laurette Clark, sister Bonna Burr, brother and sister in law Jess and Bernice Cason, sister and brother in law Mabel and Dean Wheeler and brother and sister in law Ronald and Jean Cason. Grandchildren Russell and wife Christie Almon, James Almon, Michael Almon, Sabrina Ketz, Chad Neal Simpson, Chancey Clark, Casey Clark, 12 great grandchildren and cherised neices and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Jesse Simpson grandson Jesse Neal Simpson Jr. brother Gary Lee Cason and brother in law Philip Burr.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephew Russell, James and Michael Almon, Casey Clark, Cameron Simpson and Brandon Hobbs. Honorary pallbearers will be Chancey Clark, Chad Simpson Douglas Burr, Hugh Burr and her beloved Anchor Club Family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cooke County Child Welfare Board 715 E.
