Bruce Arthur Mikkelson

Memorial service for Bruce Arthur Mikkelson 66, of Gainesville are set for Friday May 20,2011 at 11:00 a.m..in the Geo. J. Carroll and Son Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dale Brooks officating.. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Bruce passed away on Tuesday May 17, 2011 at his home.

Bruce was born on November 25, 1944 in Rhinelander, Wisconsin to Nelson and Beulah Mikkelson. Bruce was retired and was employed part time at Surplus Guys in Gainesville as a sales associate. He enjoyed restoring old cars, camping, playing cribbage, NASCAR racing and football. Bruce was very proud to be a guest member of the local V.F.W. Post #1922. He married Vicki Dennington on December 10, 1979 in Ardmore, Oklahoma.

Bruce is survived by his wife Vicki Mikkelson of Gainesville Tx, daughters Victoria Gonzalez, Melissa Hamilton and her husband Scott, Wanda Woog and her husband Steve and Molly Cook all of Rhinelander, WI. Bruce is also survived by nine grandchildren,brothers Jim Mikkelson of Gainesville ,Tx, Doug Mikkelson of Rhinelander, WI, Nelson Mikkelson Jr. of Melbourne, Fl. and sister Ida Sanford of Fairbanks, Alaska. Extended family including aunts, sisters in law,brothers in law, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Keith and Robert Mikkelson and Sister Nancy Pearson.
