Roy "Bill" Hughs Jr.

A memorial service for Roy (Bill) Hughs, Jr., 81, of Gainesville, will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Hollis Parsons officiating.



Mr. Hughs died Monday, June 27, 2011 at his home.



Bill was born April 6, 1930 in Yarnaby, OK to Roy Robert, Sr. and Virtle Bell Garrett Hughs. He married Emma Sue Pearson in Sherman on May 19, 1956.



Mr. Hughs is survived by his wife Sue Hughs of Gainesville, his children Bryan and his wife Shawna Hughs of Gainesville; Phillip Hughs of Big Spring; Cheyenne and Cody Hughs of Gainesville; sister Edna Clements of Granbury; sister Joan and her husband Don Moore of Arlington; brother Ralph and his wife Dena Mae Hughs of Mesquite; sister Betty and her husband Rease Colburn of Granbury; sister Judy and her husband J.C. Faye of Pottsboro. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.



Bill was preceded in death by his parents; by his brothers Jack and Frank; by his sisters Vivian, Violet, Eva, and Ruth.
