Norma Jane Estes

Funeral services for Norma Jane Estes, 83, of Gainesville, are set for 10:00 am Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Darrell McIntyre officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview cemetery under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 6:00 - 7:00 pm Monday, September 5, 2011 at the funeral home.

Norma Jane Estes was born in Gainesville on November 4, 1927 to Jasper Guy and Martha Florence Johnson Estes. She passed away on September 2, 2011 in Gainesville.

Norma Jane was a 1945 graduate of Gainesville High School. She received her Masters at North Texas State University in 1952. She taught at the Gainesville State School for 35 years. Norma was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society. She loved traveling, playing bridge, and spending time with family.

She is survived by her brother Ray Guy Estes of Gainesville; her beloved nephews Steven Guy Estes of Kelso, WA; Graden Kyle Estes of Granbury; Randall Lee Estes of Valley View; Glenn Ray Estes of Gainesville; eight grand nephews and nieces; and a loving caregiver Gail Bryant.
