Juanita Coomer Clark

Juanita Coomer Clark, 77, of Gainesville, passed away peacefully on Friday, Sept. 23, 2011 at the Renaissance Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with Ben Willingham officiating. Burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery. Visitation is planned for 6 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 26, 2011, at the funeral home.

Juanita was born on February 2, 1934, in Gainesville to James and Ada Bell (Roberson) Coomer.

She attended Six Mile School (Hogeye), southeast of town in the late 1930’s. It was there she met the love of her life, the late Edwin Douglas Clark. They were married on December 4, 1949, and shared 54 wonderful years of true devotion for one another.

Juanita and Doug lived in Arlington, Texas from 1955 to 1986 and she worked in the credit department at Sears Roebuck & Company for 20 years; followed by five years at First City National Bank. Moving to the Clark farm in 1986, she enjoyed gardening, canning, baking, and sewing.

Loving mother to son, Neil Clark and his wife, Jan of Springfield, Virginia, and daughter, Colleen Clark Carri and her husband, Keith, of Gainesville; Mema to five grandchildren, David Freeman, Randal Clark, Lance Carri, Morgan Clark, and Austin Clark; three great-granddaughters, Dana Freeman, Elizabeth Clark and Victoria Clark, she is also survived by her brother in law L. D. Clark of Gainesville; numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends.

Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, parents, infant son Phillip Alan, and brothers, Wayne and Albert Coomer.

Pallbearers will be her four grandsons, and two nephews, Calvin and David Coomer.

The family would like to sincerely thank the compassionate staff at the Renaissance Care Center and Cooke County Home Hospice organization and Dr. Larry Sears.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be to the Alzheimer’s Association or Cooke County Home Hospice.
