Melvin "Jake" Hodge

Funeral services for Melvin “Jake” Hodge, 88, of Gainesville, will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at Whaley United Methodist Church with Rev. Charles Aaron officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain Creek Cemetery in St. Jo. A visitation will be held for 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, Ocotober 11, 2011 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Mr. Hodge passed away October 8, 2011 at his residence in Gainesville.

Jake was born April 30, 1923 in St. Jo to Thomas Peter and Gracie Mae Atteberry Hodge.

Mr. Hodge is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Michael Keith and Tammi Hodge of McKinney; son and daughter-in-law Nance R. and Julie Hodge of Richardson; daughter and son-in-law Mary Kay and Ed Stein of Round Rock; son Kenneth Marvin Precise of Victoria; grandchildren Cody R. Hodge, Kristen Hodge, Whitney Hodge and Kenneth Marvin Precise, Jr.

Jake was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Mildred Embry Precise Hodge on May 15, 2010; son Vance R. Hodge on October 25, 2008; 2 bothers and 2 sisters.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Whaley United Methodist Church, 701 Rosedale Dr., Gainesville, TX 76240.
