Kenneth Fomby

Funeral service for Kenneth Fomby 82, of Gainesville are set for Wednesday October 19, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Geo.J. Carroll and Son Chapel with Rev. Lewis Acrey officating and burial to follow in Fairview cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday October 18, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Kenneth passed away on Sunday October 16, 2011 in Corinth Texas.



Kenneth was born on November 10, 1928 in Dallas Tx to Jackson Henry and Mrytle Heath Pallister Fomby. He served two years in the U.S. Army and upon returning he married Virgie Doris Sharp in 1949 at the Turner Hotel in Gainesville Texas. Kenneth was a very successful entrepreneur and buisnessman. He was an avid horse man and rancher. He also had a love for animals. Kenneth was a active member of the New Beginnings Fellowship Church. He believed in hard work and loved and cherised his family especially his grandchildren.



Kenneth is survived by his daughter Virginia Gail Brandt, son and daughter in law Kenneth Russell and Teresa Fomby, honorary children Allen Jackson Fomby, Gary Ellsworth Fomby and Robert Loyd Tamplin Also a brother Paul Robert Fomby of California, twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Virgie Doris Fomby, daughters Jan Reiter and Beth Kuykendall and sons in law Bill Reiter and Tommy Brandt. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
