She was born on September 8, 1921 in Shamrock, TX to Emma Cora Beguhn and Alexis Bergman. She married William Martin (Bill) Powledge June 12, 1940 in Clarendon, TX.

Survivors include her girls Toni Powledge, Chrissy Calleros, Natalie Calleros, and Alexandria Calleros.
