Lois Estes

A funeral service for Lois Estes, 88, of Gainesville is scheduled for 10 A.M. Saturday, December 31, 2011 at the Geo. J. Carroll &Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Lee officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. A visitation will be on Friday, December 30,2011 from 6-8 P.M. at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Mrs. Estes died December 24, 2011 in Cisco, TX.

She was born April 12, 1923 in Valley View, TX to Willie B.and T. Eddie McPherson Smithey.

She is survived by: son Don Estes and wife Jeanie of Gainesville; son Larry Estes and wife Melanie of Bryan/College Station; daughter Shirley Montgomery and husband Ronnie of Whitesboro; daughter Beverly Masseyand husband Cliff of Cisco; and son Randy Estes and fiancé Tiffany Brinlee ofWhitesboro. Grandchildren Joanna Estes,Todd Estes, Stephen Estes, Wayne Estes, Brandy Burns, Dawn Fellegy, Len Montgomery, Marc Montgomery, Jeremy Barton, Lynsey Lewis,Cole Massey, Sarah Estes, Katie Estes, and Andrew Estes. Great-grandchildren Bryndon, Sydney, Tristan, Kylynn, Ashlynn, Karli, Laythe, Cannen, Kendal, Chase, Lyndon, Katelyn, Carly,Taylor, Avery, C.J., Dillon, and Allison. Sister Jean Hamilton of Justin, TX; sister Ellen Ripple of Grand Bay, AL; and sister-in-law Pat Smithey of Kerrville, TX.

She loved her family deeply, especially her grandchildrenand great-grandchildren finding the most joy in times with them. She also deeply loved to garden, especially with flowers and enjoyed the outdoors. Throughout her life she had a love of country and gospel music and enjoyed country dancing.

She was preceded in death by her husband Leon ‘Rabbit’ Estes; grandson James Estes; her parents; and brothers Rupert, Lawrence, Bill, R.E., and Richard Smithey.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Estes, Todd Estes, Jeremy Barton, Cole Massey, Len Montgomery, Marc Montgomery, and Andrew Estes.
