Velora Marie Eastin

September 21, 1936 — January 3, 2012

Velora Marie Eastin passed away peacefully on January 3, 2012 at the age of 75 at her home in Richardson, Texas with her husband and sister at her side. She was the loving wife of Beverly Eastin, and the cherished mother of her daughter, Kim Marie Eastin, who preceded her in death in 1995. Mrs. Eastin is also survived by her sister, Shirley Stiles Pace.

She is lovingly remembered by a large, extended family including brothers-in-law and sister-in-law Dick Eastin of San Antonio and James and Joyce Eastin of Dallas. Also surviving Velora are dear cousins, Larry Grant of Trinity, Texas and Tim Grant of Santa Fe, Texas. Her devoted nieces are Marinell Pace Kephart of Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky; Jane Pace of Covington, Louisiana; and Angela Eastin Vinson of Flower Mound, Texas. Mrs. Eastin will be greatly missed by her grand-nieces, grand-nephews and many cousins. An especially close bond was shared with her cousin, Raymond Butts of Gainesville, Texas.

Mrs. Eastin was born on September 21, 1936 to Clyde and Marie Stiles in her grandparents’ home in Marysville. She graduated from Gainesville High School and Gainesville Junior College, and attended North Texas State College. She married Beverly Eastin on July 31, 1959. Their daughter Kim was born on August 19, 1960.

Velora dedicated her entire life to her family. Her generosity and compassion will be greatly missed. Her exceptional memory for her family’s dates of birth, marriage, anniversaries, and the other ceremonies of life was unmatched. She was always ready to lend help, listen to, and console all of us. Her love was the foundation for the ties that hold us together today and always.

Kathryn McGee, Mrs. Eastin’s lifelong and dear friend, will share memories in Marysville on January 7 at 2:00 pm. Services are under the direction of George J. Carroll and Son Funeral Home in Gainesville.

Mrs. Eastin’s family would like to thank the staff of New Century Hospice for its outstanding care. All memorials should be sent to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which was the fond desire for both Mrs. Eastin and her beloved daughter Kim Marie.

The heart of an angel
touched by God's love...
so loving, so loved,
God's gift from above.

I am so blessed to have been the husband to our precious Velora.

Beverly
~with Kim in our heart~
