Funeral Services for Frances Raney, 94, of Rosston, are set for 2:00 pm Thursday, January 12, 2012 at the Rosston Methodist Church, with the Rev. Ron Miner officiating, under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Rosston Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 7:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday, January 11, 2012.
Frances was born on August 7, 1917 in Rosston to Frank and Nettie McLaughlin Links. She passed away on January 9, 2012 in Gainesville. She married Forrest Raney on March 8, 1932 in Marietta, OK and enjoyed 46 years of marriage until his passing in 1978. She loved to quilt, sew, and was a fabulous cook. Frances had an infectious smile and her laughter filled many hearts with joy. She worked as a caregiver for River Valley Health and Rehabilitation.
She is survived by her daughter and son in law Dorothy and Harold Cook of Gainesville; son and daughter in law Jim and Mary Ellen Raney of Rosston; son and daughter in law Cecil and Kay Raney of Rosston; daughter Shirley Miller of Mineola; Daughter Billie Ferrell of Gainesville; daughter and son in law Evelyn and Charles Henderson of Hico; daughter and son in law Sue and Mark LeGault of Lakewood, CA; son in law Nick Cochran of Hayward, CA; daughter in law Shirley Raney of Rosston; 25 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; 27 great-great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-great-grandchildren; and sister Annie Peck of Amarillo.
She was preceded in death by her husband Forrest Raney; son Sam Raney; son Ed Raney; son Roy Raney; son Clyde Raney; daughter Helen Cochran; grandson Steve Raney; grandson Clay Ferrell; brother Charles Links; brother Conner Links; brother Oplus Links; brother Billy Links; sister Hazel Hughes; sister Dorothy Wilson; and sister Myrtle Wilson.
Pallbearers will be Herbert Richardson, Don Richardson, Jimmy Raney, Brian Raney, Roy Raney, Christopher Henderson, Travis Bayer, and Clint Sicking.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Home Hospice of Cooke County.
