A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012, at the Lake Kiowa Lodge. Pastor Andy Anderson will be officiating the service.

Alice Emma Huettis was born March 21, 1935, in the New York Bronx to Adolf and Emma Dingler. Alice married Ted Huettis at 21 years of age and they lived in New York until the age of 24. They decided to be adventurous and travel across the country to California where they settled in Sierra Madre, Calif., a beautiful little village in the foothills.
They lived there for 42 years having a son, Glenn, and a daughter, Lynn. After Ted retired in 2000, they moved to Lake Kiowa to be closer to their daughter Lynn Schneider and her family. For the past several years, Alice enjoyed numerous close friendships, and was involved in and loved her bridge groups, card games, women’s club, gourmet group and all of her church activities.
She was a member of Lutheran Church of the Cross in Arcadia, Calif., and a member of New Life Bible Church in Gainesville.
Alice loved the Lord and had a very strong faith. The last two years, she endured a severe form of Parkinson’s Disease called corticobasal degeneration, leaving her wheelchair-bound and needing much assistance. Although her physical state had changed, her personality, wit and sense of humor were still ever amazing and a blessing to all who knew her. We are so happy for her now, knowing she is in the “presence of the Lord” and feeling no pain. Thanks be to God…
Alice Emma Huettis is survived by her husband, Ted Huettis of Lake Kiowa; son, Glenn Huettis and wife Jean of Placerville, Calif.; daughter, Lynn Schneider and husband Don of Lake Kiowa; and grandchildren, Lindsey and Rachel Schneider of Lake Kiowa and Alex Huettis of Placerville, Calif.
Memorial contributions may be made to Home Hospice of Cooke County or the Parkinson’s Association. ADV.
