Robert F. Blessing Sr.

Funeral services for Robert F. Blessing, Sr., 90, of Gainesville are scheduled for 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Rev. Chuck Aaron officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Mr. Blessing died March 31, 2012. He was born January 30, 1922 in Dayton, OH.

Mr. Blessing married Rosemary Woodall on July 18, 1942 in Marietta, GA. They were happily married for 65 years. He was employed by National Supply for 32 years – 23 of which were spent in Gainesville – before retiring in 1982. He visited Gainesville Municipal Golf Course frequently, as he was an avid golfer. Mr. Blessing achieved the highest rank of 32nd Degree Shriner and often visited the Ft. Worth Lodge.

Survivors include sons Bob Blessing and wife Betty of Granbury, Gerald Blessing and wife Gail of Plano, and Brian Blessing and wife Sherry of Keller; grandchildren Kevin Blessing, Laurie McCoy, Meghan Blessing, Mollie Blessing, Ryan Blessing, Melissa Blessing, Kyle Blessing, and Savannah Blessing; great-grandchildren Cole, Dillon, Stevie, Emily, and Ava.

Mr. Blessing was preceded in death by his wife.

Visitation is scheduled from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made in Mr. Blessing’s memory to the Hospital Auxiliary at North Texas Medical Center.
