MARGARET SUZANNE "SUZY" HENRY

Margaret Suzanne Henry (Suzy) 66, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 19th, 2012 at her home.

Suzy was born August 29, 1945 in Charleston SC, to Vernon and Margaret Lindsay. She graduated Gainesville ISD class of 1963, earned and Associates of Arts at CCJC in 1965, and furthered her studies at Texas Technological College in Lubbock, TX. Education was high on her list of accomplishments. In 1974 Suzy received her BS in Elementary Education form MSU, in Wichita Falls, TX., followed by her Master of Counseling degree in 1983 also from MSU. Suzy retired from the educational system after 35 plus years of 3rd grade classroom teaching. After retirement from teaching Suzy was employed by Winstar Casino, promotions department.

On September 8, 1966 Suzy married Dan Henry of Paducah, Texas. Suzy and Dan resided in Paducah where she was an active member of the National Order of Eastern Star, Beta Sigma Phi a member of the First Methodist Church, and highly involved in her community. Survivors include her three sons, Danny Henry Jr. and wife Amy of Gainesville, TX; Patrick Henry of Paducah, TX; Gary Henry of Gainesville, TX; one sister in law Jacki Henry of Big Spring, TX; one brother Donald Lindsay and wife Isabel of Gainesville, TX; one sister Bettye Vaughan of Gainesville, TX; seven grand children: Hunter Henry of Paducah, TX, Sara Wadkins, Corbin Wadkins, Tate Wadkins, Kevin Henry, Maxwell Henry and Nicholas Henry of Gainesville, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Suzy was preceded in death by the love of her life Dan Henry in April 1994.

Per Suzy’s words: “Life may not be the party we hoped for but while we are here we should dance.”

Visitation at George Carroll Funeral Home, April 22nd from 7-9pm. Burial will be held in Paducah, TX (services pending).

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Suzy’s name to the American Cancer Society.
