Mary Ellen Raney

Memorial services for Mary Ellen Raney, 74, of Era will be held at 1:30 PM Monday, May 14, 2012 at the Rosston Baptist Church with Ronnie Conyers officiating. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday, May 13, 2012 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Mrs. Raney passed away May 10, 2012 in Muenster.

Mary Ellen was born September 1, 1937 in Sugar Grove, AR to Daniel James and Ila Mae Weaver Townsend. She attended Uvalde Junior College. She was a member of the Rosston Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for a number of years. She had developed a love of painting and had become a talented artist. Along with her husband Jim, was the owner and operator of the Forestburg Country Store until her retirement in 1998.

Mrs. Raney is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, Jim Raney; her daughter and son-in-law Debbie and Pat Berman of Boyd; son and daughter-in-law Jimmy and Candi Raney of Forestburg; daughter Diane Raney of Saginaw; daughter and son-in-law Julie and Donald Marshall of Plugerville; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren.

Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her 3 brothers, Johnnie, Vernon, and Leo Townsend.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Ryan Berman, Eric Berman, John Raney, Chris Raney, D.J. Marshall, Eric Williams, Shannon Nicholson, Derek Holder, Justin Jones, and Jackson Raney.
