Billy G. Herrmann

Billy Gene Herrmann of Houston, TX passed away on June 4,2012. Bill was born in Gainesville, TXon July 15, 1925 to Arthur C. Herrmann and Estella Brooks Herrmann. He graduated from Gainesville High School in1943 and joined the U.S. Navy shortly thereafter. Upon being discharged in 1946, he graduatedfrom Woodbury College in Los Angeles in 1948 and then returned to Texas. Bill spent most of his career with EXXONCorporation, first in Tulsa, OK with Carter Oil in 1954, after which hetransferred to Houston in 1966, where he spent the rest of his career until heretired in 1986.

Preceded in death by his parents, brother A.C. andsister-in-law Bethel Herrmann, sister and brother-in-law Betty and Ray Hardin,nephews James A. Herrmann, Jeremy Lackey, and Bud Francis, Bill is survived by his nieces Phylis Francis, Tracie Carpenter and her husband Jeff, and RosemarieHerrmann, great nephews Mark Chiappone and his wife Lina, Joshua Carpenter,and great nieces Holly Altemose and herhusband Lance, Sarah Herrmann, and Rebekah Herrmann Batot and her husband Adam,as well as great-great nephews Dominic and John Paul Chiappone and great-greatniece Alexandra Altemose.

The family would like to extend their love and appreciationto Walter LaForge, Mari Anne Eaton, and Ron Parnell, Bill’s long-time Houstonfriends for their love and devotion to Bill, as well as the Hampton SeniorLiving staff during his residency for their loving care and friendship, and theVantage Hospice staff.

Visitation will be from 9-10:30 am on Sat., June 9 at theGeorge J. Carroll and Son Funeral Home, 602 Lindsay St., Gainesville, with the funeralservice following at 11:00 a.m with the Rev. Mark Loewen. Burialservice will be at Fairview Cemetery
