Hattie Marie Skaggs

Funeral Services for Hattie Marie Skaggs, 84, of Gainesville are set for 3:00 PM Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Ricky King officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Ms. Skaggs died June 5, 2012 in Gainesville. She was born July 8, 1927 in Sulphur Springs, TX to John Ebra and Jennie Elizabeth King.

Survivors include: daughters Brenda Mason and Debra Skaggs; sons Dewayne Skaggs and wife Karin, James Skaggs and wife Kathy, and Ronnie Skaggs and wife Rachel; sister Judy May Baldwin; brother-in-law Oscar Brown; 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Ms. Skaggs was preceded in death by: daughter Helen Brown; son Jerry Don Skaggs; her parents; sisters Elma Archer, Christine Flanagan, Dorothy Wesson, Mildred King, and Louise Cannon; brothers William King, J.D. King, and Clarence Ray King; granddaughters Amanda Miller and Tiffany Serna; and grandsons Curtis Brashar and Gary Brown.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Allen Skaggs, James ‘Slick’ Skaggs, Jason Brashar, Colton Skaggs, Bradley Davis, and Terry Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be Chase Sly and William Womack.

Visitation is set for Friday, June 8, 2012 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.
