Funeral services for Christine Plumlee, 80, of Gainesville will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Hollis Parsons officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Plumlee passed away on June 15, 2012 in Denton.
Christine was born on May 19, 1932 in Cooke County to Hazel Bell and Gene Beaver, Sr.
Mrs. Plumlee was a member of the Gainesville community for most of her 80 years. She married Tom D. (Short) Plumlee on December 19, 1951. Together they owned and operated a dairy outside of Gainesville for many years. They had three children together, Neil, Ross, and Lori.
Christine was a gracious and devoted wife, and loving and caring mother. Her love in life was providing a home for her family and tending to their needs. Early on, she was involved in her community, modeling in various events in the area. She was also active in her sorority and several civic functions. She slowed only after developing multiple sclerosis, which she had for 50 years.
Christine is survived by her daughter Lori Autry of Gainesville; son Neil Plumlee of Gainesville; grandsons Thomas Plumlee of Gainesville and Ross Autry of Gainesville; brothers Gene “Junior” Beaver of Sherwood Shores and Don Beaver of Odessa.
Mrs. Plumlee was preceded in death by her husband Tom D. (Short) Plumlee and her son Ross Plumlee.
