Louise Brorman Spinhirne passed away June 20 at Pecan Tree Nursing Home in Gainesville with her family at her side. She was born March 15, 1929 in Umbarger, Texas, to Henry and Anna Brorman. Her mother died when she was very young and she was raised by her step-mother Caroline Brorman. She grew up on the family farm near Hereford, Texas, and on September 13, 1950, she married Walter Spinhirne. Walter and Louise lived in Vega, Texas, where they established their grocery business and started their family. They later lived in Hereford, Dimmitt, and Dumas, Texas before moving four years ago to Lake Kiowa to be closer to family.
Louise was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Gainesville. She loved to garden and crochet. After raising her eight children, she began caring for children in her home for many years until she was in her 70's. Caring for children was her greatest enjoyment and she considered all of them "her babies". Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. She touched many lives and will be greatly missed.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Harry and Anne, and her grandson Cameron Willit.
She is survived by her husband Walter, sons and daughters-in-law David and Babette Spinhirne, Michael and Sharon Spinhirne, Kevin and Lori Spinhirne, and Marvin Spinhirne; daughters and sons-in-law Caroline and Steve Bezner, Angela and Keith Jones, Gina and Bruce Willit, and Jackie Johnson. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, siblings Joseph Brorman, Sr. Pauline Brorman, Alphonse Brorman, Delores Frerich, James Brorman, and many cousins, nieces and nephews and friends.
A funeral Mass will be held on June 30th at 10:00 a.m in Vega, Texas at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited on June 29th at 7:00 p.m. at the church.Arrangements under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll and Son Funeral Home.
