A graveside service for Tina Silmon, 51, of Gainesville is scheduled for 9:00 AM Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Valley View Cemetery with Bro. Bill Fincher officiating under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. A visitation is scheduled for 6:00 – 8:00 PM Friday, June 29, 2012 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.
Tina went home to be with the Lord June 27, 2012.
She was born July 9, 1960 in Gainesville to F.D. ‘Boady’ and Nona Shell.
She attended Central Baptist Church in Gainesville. After graduating from Gainesville High School she had many jobs, starting at Tom Thumb Grocery in the bakery. She did catering, retail and worked as a florist. For the last several years Tina worked for the Gainesville ISD as a maintenance technician. What she loved most about her job was seeing the children and being with her co-workers. Tina always gave her 100% at any job she held – taught by her dad to always give your employer your best and to be proud of your work.
Tina wouldn’t let anyone get anything over on her and stood up for what she believed. She made those around her laugh and feel good whenever she was around and was always uplifting. When Tina was diagnosed with cancer she would say, “It is what it is,” and the only time she got sad was thinking of missing out on watching her grandchildren grow up. Tina is going to be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include: son Chad Lee and wife Amanda; grandchildren Cheyenne, Colton, and Sage Lee; brothers Leslie and Joey Shell; sister Missy Barthold and husband Steve; sister Carol Robertson; very good friend Bob Silmon; nephews Justin Barthold, Cody Shell; and niece Honey Shell.
Tina was preceded in death by her father F.D. ‘Boady’ Shell; nephew Kelby Barthold; cousin Julie Miller; and sister-in-law Angie Shell.
