Lee Lefever

January 29, 1933 — August 15, 2012

Memorial Mass for Lee Lefever, 79, of Valley View, is set for 10:00 am Saturday, August 25, 2012 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Jim Pemberton officiating, under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm Friday, August 24, 2012, with visitation to follow at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home Chapel. Interment of cremated remains will take place at a later date at the DFW National Cemetery.

Lee was born on January 29, 1933 and passed away August 15, 2012 after a courageous battle with bone cancer. He was originally from Oklahoma, lived in Missouri, and moved to Texas in 1963.

He held a degree in Mechanical Engineering and was employed by other companies before he started his own business, Lead Enterprises Inc. in 1984, subcontracting mechanical assemblies, located in Irving, TX. He later branched out and formed Interfast Inc., Carrollton,TX as a distributor for fasteners and electronic hardware. He retired in 1996.

Lee moved to Valley View in 1983 and thoroughly enjoyed his country living until his death. Lee loved history, sports, fishing, and flying. At one time he held a private pilot license and owned a couple of small antique airplanes. He could talk airplanes for hours. He served the U.S. Air Force from 1950-1952.

He was a member of St. Mary''s Catholic Church for 25 years and also a member of the 4th degree Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Darlene, his three sister-in-laws of Missouri, and numerous beloved nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. Although he never had any children of his own, he was Grandpa to several and loved it.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic School, Gainesville, TX.
