ALFRED EARNEST LATHAM
Funeral services for Alfred Earnest Latham, 77, of Callisburg, are set for 11:00 AM Friday, August 24, 2012 at the Grand Ave. Baptist Church in Gainesville, with Bro. Bill Black officiating. Burial will follow in the New Resthaven Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 PM Thursday, August 23, 2012 at the funeral home.
Mr. Latham passed away August 22, 2012 in Denison.
Alfred was born November 18, 1934 in Brown County to Jesse Willie and Mattie Viola Williams Latham. He was a faithful member of Grand Ave. Baptist Church for over 10 years and served as head deacon. He was also a founding member of the Lewisville Football Association. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Mr. Latham is survived by his wife of 58 years, Virginia Kitchens Latham of Callisburg; daughter and son-in-law Joaneta Gail and Jerry Cayce of Wylie; son and daughter-in-law Michael Earnest and Laura Latham of Van; son and daughter-in-law Samuel Marcus and Gina Latham of Lewisville; son and daughter-in-law Kevin Matthew and Brenda Latham of Lewisville; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law Jimmy and Melinda Latham of Athens and his sister Shirley Crisp of Little Elm.
Alfred was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Charlie Latham; his sister Peggy Henry.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Grand Ave. Baptist Church of Gainesville, 602 N. Grand Ave., Gainesville, TX 76240.
