Samuel B. Murrell

Private graveside services for Samuel B. Murrell, 87, of Gainesville will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 4, 2012 in Fairview Cemetery.


Mr. Murrell passed away August 30, 2012 in Gainesville.


Sam was born February 2, 1925 in Antlers, OK to Samuel Floy and Mollie Long Murrell. He joined the Navy at the age of 17. He was awarded a Silver Star and a Purple Heart for action in the South Pacific. He was a Mason for 65 years.


Mr. Murrell is survived by his wife of 66 years, Patsy White Murrell; son and daughter-in-law Pete and Cynthia Murrell of Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law Pam and Stan Enderby of Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law Jodi and Asa Clemons of Lewisville; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.


Sam was preceded in death by his parents.
