Mrs. Hess passed away in Muenster on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Kitty was born on September 3, 1946 in Sherman to William Robert and Elvira Mary Eberhart Flusche.
She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and friend. Kitty enjoyed cooking, sewing, volunteerism, camping, and playing with her grandchildren. She had tremendous faith and lived her life as an example for others. She fought her illness with a silent bravery, facing more challenges then anyone should have to endure. Through it all she maintained a grace to be admired. She was always thoughtful, loving and giving of her time and talents. In recent years, she spent many days with her mother and mother-in-law, being devoted to their well being and providing companionship. Kitty was outspoken and spunky, and you could hear her voice and laughter over a crowd despite her small stature. She could often be found baking and spent numerous hours teaching her grandchildren her secrets. She was known as "Kitty" to all, but her favorite name was "Nana". Being a grandma was her most treasured role. Making holidays extra special down to every detail was her forte. Her kind heart and smile will be missed by all who knew her, but her love will live on in our hearts.
Kitty is survived by her husband Dennis John Hess of Lindsay; daughter and son-in-law Holly and Matt Veech of Houston; daughter Lara Hess Gordon of Fort Worth; grandchildren: Lindsay Veech, Tucker Gordon, Maggie Veech, Grant Veech; mother Elvira Mary Flusche of Lindsay; mother-in-law Leona “Bonnie” Hess of Muenster; sister and brother-in-law Imogene and Albert Zimmer of Gainesville; brother and sister-in-law William “Bill” and Vivian Flusche of Grandbury; brother Jim Flusche of Lindsay. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Mrs. Hess was preceded in death by her father.
