Doris Nell Thomison

Graveside service for Doris Nell Thomison, 74, of Gainesville are set for October 15, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the New Resthaven Cemetery under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Jordon Johnson officating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 14, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. til 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Doris passed away on October 11, 2012 in Gainesville.


Doris was born on June 17, 1938 in Marysville, Tx to Lester Clyde and Rose Allen Cravens Sawyer. Doris married Leon Thomison on August 30, 1954 in Denton, Texas and for many years they owned and operated Leon's Landscaping. She enjoyed gardening, was a avid bingo player but most of all she loved her family.


Doris is survived by her sons James Leon Thomison of Orlando Fl., Billy Wayne Thomison of Hurst Tx., Danny Ray Thomison of Gainesville Tx., and Darell Glen Thomison of Corsicana Tx. and daughters Donna Ray Braudaway of Gainesville and Sharon Gayle Roach of Corsicana Tx. Also 14 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.


Doris was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leon Thomison and great granddaughter Kayla L Brock.
