Rebecca Mcleroy Schafer

Funeral Services for Rebecca McLeroy Schafer, 52, of Gainesville, are set for 2:00 PM Friday, November 9, 2012, at the First United Methodist Church in Gainesville, with the Rev. Don Yeager officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 7:00 - 8:00 PM Thursday, November 8, 2012 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Rebecca was born in Gainesville on June 11, 1960 to Robert Lee and Margaret Ann Isbell McLeroy. She passed away on November 4, 2012 in Gainesville.

Rebecca graduated from Gainesville High School in 1978, she then went on to receive her Bachelors from TWU. She taught at Gainesville ISD and Lewisville ISD before medically retiring. She graced the world with her singing in many choirs and musicals. She was Co-Captain of high school drill team.

She is survived by her son Keith Grice King II of Callisburg and his wife Nikki; son Dalton Lee Schafer of Houston and his fiance'e Jolie Graf; brother Dr. Robert Reagan McLeroy of Gainesville and his wife Melodye; sister Kathleen McLeroy of Gainesville; sister Patty M. Poore of Arlington and her husband Ralph; sister Le'Ann Santone of Madison, CT and her husband Ken; grandsons Dane and Cole King of Callisburg; nephews Barton McLeroy, and Robert Santone; nieces Mary Margaret McLeroy, Susan Poore, Amanda Poore, Elizabeth Santone.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
