Gerald Wayne Griffith

Graveside services for Gerald Wayne Griffith, 70, of Gainesville, are set for 11:00 AM Friday, November 9, 2012 at Oak Grove Cemetery in Woodbine with Pastor Kenneth Reiter officiating, under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, November 8, 2012 from 6:00 - 7:00 PM.

Gerald was born in Bowie on May 19, 1942 to Claude Lee and Jessie Lois Faulkner Griffith. He passed away on November 5, 2012 in Denton.

Gerald was and ranch hand and loved to rodeo. In the mid to late sixties, he rode bulls and bareback broncos professionally.

He is survived by his brother C. L. Griffith Jr., of Forestburg; brother Billy Joe Griffith of Panama City Beach, FL.; sister Sandra Kay Carrigan of Tioga; brother Paul Ray Griffith of Wichita Falls; sister Shirley Fay Griffith of Gainesville; brother Matt Freddie Griffith of Gainesville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Elijah George Griffith; sister Jessie Lee Griffith; sister Mary Ann Burkhart; and brother Van Gordon Griffith.
