Lou Dillard

Winnie Louise “Lou” Dillard, 82, of Gainesville passed away November 19, 2012 in Muenster. There will be a graveside service at 11:00 am Wednesday, November 21 in Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Ben Willingham officiating. Services are under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.


Mrs. Dillard was born September 10, 1930 in Sivells Bend to Rufus and Winnie Lynch. She married William Eugene “Bill” Dillard on July 30, 1950 in Gainesville. Mrs. Dillard taught the third and fifth grades and retired from GISD. She enjoyed sewing and gardening, but above all, cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren.


Survivors include: son, Mark Dillard and wife, Aleta of Marietta, OK; daughter, Cindy Fry and husband, Greg of Gainesville; granddaughter, Shelley Andrews and husband, John of Milburn, OK; grandson, Tyler Schneider and wife, Jessica of San Marcos; granddaughter, Katie Britain and husband, Shane of Gainesville; and great-grandchildren Cameron, Chelby, and Creek. Survivors also include many nieces, nephews and friends.


Mrs. Dillard was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Eldon Lynch.
