Carolyn "Snooks" Balthrop

Funeral services for Carolyn "Snooks" Balthrop are scheduled for 10:30 AM Sunday, November 25 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Chapel with Rev. Larry Kremling officiating. Burial will follow at Rosston Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 - 7 pm Saturday, November 24 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Balthrop passed away November 22, 2012 in Rosston.

Mrs. Balthrop was born June 8, 1945 in Wilberton, OK to Harold and Peggy Melton. She graduated from Valley View High School in 1964. She married Rodney Balthrop December 3, 1965 in Slidell. Mrs. Balthrop worked at Linda Jo Shoe Factory until it closed. She then worked for Sanders Manufacturing before going to work at Nocona Boot Company. Leaving Nocona Boot Company, she went to work at Weber Aircraft, from where she retired.

Survivors include: husband, Rodney Balthrop of Rosston; daughter and son-in-law Karen and Brady Dennis of Valley View; grandson, Rodney Dennis of Gainesville; sister, Betty Sue Taylor of Antlers, OK; sister, Susan Melton; brother, Harold Melton, Jr.; step-brothers, Dan and Jimmy Melton; brothers-in-law and spouses, James and Billie Balthrop of Myra and Kenny Balthrop of Rosston; sisters-in-law and spouses Sybil and Bud Upshaw of Bigsby, AZ, Anna Kirk of Rosston, Sandra and Garland Lehman of Iowa Park, and Barbra Balthrop of Myra.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harold C Melton, Sr.; step-mother, Peggy Parish Melton; and sister, Pat Melton.

Pallbearers are Tracy and Dustin Lehman, Jeff Balthrop, Gary Balthrop, Bobby Balthrop, and David Kirk. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Johns and Jimmy Prescher.
