Billy Randall Waggoner was born November 27, 1932 in Gainsville, Tx. He passed away March 3, 2013 in Conroe, Tx at the age of 80.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife Sharon in 2009. He and his wife celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on February 14, 2009.
He is survived by his son George and wife Sheila Waggoner of Conroe, Tx, daughter Debra Peter and husband Louis of Cedar Lane, Tx, and his grandchildren: Randall and wife Abbey Waggoner, Rachael Waggoner,
Kay Peter, and Becky Peter.
Bill served his country with a career in the military. He was in the Army and was a Korean War Veteran. He also served in the Air Force for 22 years. Bill held to the values of duty and service throughout his life. After retirement from the Air Force, he worked for many years as a machinist for Texas Instruments in Sherman.
Bill was a family man who enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He had many hobbies including fishing, gardening, coin collecting, and building model airplanes and puzzles. Bill especially enjoyed working out with his friends at the North Texas Medical Center’s Rehab Center. He will be missed by family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 6 from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 7 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Chapel with lay pastor Craig Waggoner officiating. Burial will be in the Valley View Cemetery with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Texas Medical Center Foundation at 1900 Hospital Blvd, Gainesville, Texas 76240.
