Lula Belle Grove

Memorial service for Lula Belle James Grove 99, are set for Tuesday April 2, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Woodbine Baptist Church, 245 C.R. 211 with services under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll and Son Funeral Home. Lula passed away on Friday March 29, 2013 in Whitesboro after 99 incredible years of life.

Lula was born on August 23, 1913 in Tecumseh, OK. to David Daniel and Dora Tilden McAdams James Jr., she was one of twelve children, the family moved to Gainesville in 1960, where she worked as a nurse's aide into her mid-seventies. After retirement, she filled her time and heart with service in the nurseries of local churches. Lula was a devout and generous christian woman who most recently attended Calvary Baptist Church in Gainesville and in recent years Woodbine Baptist Church in Woodbine, Tx. When she was not giving of herself to the church, she was an avid quilter who kept her children and grandchildren supplied with beautiful family heirlooms.

Survivors include her children: Stanley Grove of Whitesboro, Minnetta Denison of Oklahoma City, Mary Pettigrew of Irving, Dora Ward and Willey Grove of Gainesville, Sam and BJ Grove of Weatherford and over 100 grandchildren over five generations as well as hundreds of local friends whom she counted as family. She was preceded in death by her cherished husband Richard Willey Grove, beloved daughter Juanita Pearl Bryant and her husband William Troy Bryant Jr.
