Mr. Schumacher was born September 4, 1964 in Gainesville, TX. He passed away April 15, 2013 in Gainesville.
Mr. Schumacher graduated from St. Mary’s School in 1979 and Gainesville High School in 1983. Gary began his long and successful career with the City of Gainesville in 1986. More importantly that year, he married Bonnie Truesdell on February 28. Gary was a very hard worker and was happiest when serving others. Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing, grilling, and just being outdoors. Gary was a long-time volunteer with the Gainesville Fire Department. Gary never met a stranger and would start up a conversation with just about anyone. Above all, Gary treasured the time he spent with his family – traveling to Colorado and Yellowstone National Park, playing golf with his children, and coaching his son’s football teams. Gary touched the lives of those closest to him and countless others – he will be dearly missed by all.
