Hazel Irene Gess Arnold

Graveside services for Hazel Irene Gess Arnold, 84, of Gainesville, are set for Sunday, May 5, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Roslyn Eugster officating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 5, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. util 2:45 p.m. at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Hazel passed away on May 2, 2013 in North Richland Hills, Tx.


Hazel was born on October 30, 1928 in Gainesville to C.R. and Lillie Moutray Gess. She was a graduate of Gainesville High School and graduated from TWU in 1950 with a degree in Library Science. Hazel married Harvey D. Arnold, Jr. on March 20, 1954 in Fort Worth, Tx. Hazel worked in the library at Convair which later became General Dynamics and moved back to Gainesville in 1986, retiring from working in the Law Library of Creighton University in Omaha, Ne.

Hazel is survived by a sister, Joyce Simmons of Watuga, Tx and several nieces and nephews.


Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harvey Arnold, Jr.; and a sister, Doris McLerran.
