Patsy Barthold

Funeral services for Patsy Barthold, 79, of Era, are set for 2:00 PM Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the Era Baptist Church with Bro. Donnie Miller and the Rev. Bill Black officiating. Burial will follow in the Era cemetery under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 6:00 - 7:00 PM Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Patsy was born on November 4, 1933 in Muenster to Clarence S. and Frances McCool Hudspeth. She passed away peacefully on May 5, 2013 surrounded by her family at her residence.

Patsy married Johnny Barthold on November 4, 1950, and together they had three children. She drove a bus for Era ISD and was employed by the US Postal Service in Era, but her number one priority was her children and grandchildren, which she enjoyed going to the lake and camping with. She also enjoyed helping her husband and the Baptist Men build churches in Texas, Louisiana, North Dakota, and Old Mexico. In Louisiana, she helped feed the people after Hurricane Katrina.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Johnny; son and daughter-in-law Bobby and Tricia Barthold of Valley View; daughter and son-in-law Brenda and Randy Miller of Era; son and daughter-in-law Frankie and wife Darlene Barthold of Era; grandchildren Cori, Chance, Abby, Bria, Tiffany, Shanda, Cason, Misty, and Kristy. She is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law Clarence "Dink" and Rose Hudspeth of Myra; and sister-in-law Paulette Hudspeth of Dallas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Peggy Hammer, a brother Daniel "Butch" Hudspeth, and a grandson-in-law Steve Tucker.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Barthold, Brenda Miller, Frankie Barthold, Chance, Barthold, Cason Miller, and Canyon Ramsey.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Texas Baptist Men, Era Cemetery Association, or Home Hospice of Cooke County.
