Clyde Bennett

A graveside service for Clyde Bennett, 77, of Gainesville, is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Oak Grove Cemetery with Pastor Ricky Kerr officiating. Visitation will be from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 10 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Mr. Bennett passed away May 9, 2013 in Dallas.

Mr. Bennett was born October 17, 1935 in Gainesville, TX to Ira and Mary Bennett.

Clyde retired from Armco Steel, Parker Electric and served as a Marine in the Korean War.

Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Ruth Bennett of Gainesville; children: David and Karla Bennett, Andy and Kathy Barnes, and Steve and DeAnn Bennett; grandchildren: Chris and Jennifer Bennett, Bryce Bennett, Stephen and Britney Barnes, Stuart Barnes, Shaun Bennett, and Braeden Bennett; and great-grandchildren: Courtney, Taylor, Seth and Jacob Bennett.

Mr. Bennett was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings: Irene Cady, Monroe Bennett, Thelma Springer, Wanda Walters, Jack Bennett and Faye Johnson.

Pallbearers will be his six grandsons: Chris, Bryce, Shaun, & Braeden Bennett and Stephen & Stuart Barnes.
