Evelyn "Joanne" Jones

Evelyn “Joanne” Jones passed away peacefully surrounded by family and loved ones to her heavenly home on Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at the age of 79.


She was born on Christmas Day 1933, to William Otis and Sadie Lester in Gainesville, Texas. She was a graduate of Gainesville High School. And attended Cooke County College . She married Jack Jones December 12, 1954. She was employed at National Supply for 27 years and her and Jack were owners of the La Casita Restaurant.
Services will be held at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with a graveside interment following at the Fairview Cemetery. Family visitation will be Friday, May 31, 2013 from 6:00 p.m - 8:00 p.m.

The family thanks the care givers Pat, Ginger, and Verta. Our gratitude also goes to the home hospice staff that helped her and family during her transition to Heaven.

She is survived by her daughter Karen Kreager of Carrollton, TX, her son, Kevin Jones and his wife Bobbietta of Gainesville, TX and step son Stephen Jones of Palm Desert, CA. Her sister Fleta Deen of Azle, TX. 3 Grandchildren Joshua Kreager, Courtney Kreager, and David Jones. Great-Grandchild Kelsie May And many nieces, nephews, cousins and many lifelong friends and will be missed so very much.

Pallbearers will be Bill Burkhart, Mike Burkhart, John Morrow, Jeff Burkhart, Mason Morrow, Jim Allard, and Tim McLaughlin.

Honorary Pallbearers are life long girlfriends from Robert E. Lee and Gainesville High School Lila Beth Davis, Wilda Amoroso Terry, Patricia Martin Smallwood, LaQueta McCollum Fischer, Letha Ansley and Carolyn Mossman.
