A Funeral Mass for Thomas Edward Chase, 58, of Gainesville, are set for Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Victor Cruz officating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery with military honors. A Rosary will be recited on Friday, June 7, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. with visitation to follow at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.
Thomas passed away on June 4, 2013 at his home.
Thomas was born on May 1, 1955 in Washington, Pennsylvania to Harry and Beverly Cresswell Chase, Jr. He served in the United States Air Force and worked as a computer consulant for Cooke County. Thomas was a member of the Gainesville Lions Club, serving as a past President. He was also active in all phases at Butterfield Stage Playhouse, from singing in musicals to acting, being a stage hand and any other task that needed to be done. Thomas had singing roles in many productions including My Fair Lady, Hello Dolly, Footloose and others, and his favorite character role was Froggy in Foreigner.
Thomas is survived by his wife Karla Chaquette "Kit" Chase, son and daughter-in-law Isaac and Kate Chase, son John Chase, daughters and sons-in-law Tanya and Travis McNair, Rachel and Jonathan Grace, Tammi and Jeff Cagle and Andrea Williams, brothers and sisters-in-law Pete and Debra Chase, Phillip and Christine Chase and brother James Chase, sister and brother-in-law Jennifer and Mark Gray, sister Sue Burch, father Harry Chase, Jr., and grandchildren Hannah McNair and Amelia Chase.
He was preceded in death by his mother Beverly Chase and sister Ann Ludwick.
Pallbearers will be Isaac Chase, Pete Chase, Travis McNair, Jonathan Grace, Jeff Cagle, Mike Moore and Larry Durnberger.
