Funeral services for Wanda Truesdell, 73, of Gainesville, are set for Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Robert Kelley officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 8, 2013 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Wanda passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 in Gainesville.
Wanda was born on September 7, 1939 in Gainesville, Tx to James Albert and Eula Brewer Owen. Wanda married Richard "Dick" Truesdell on November 19, 1955 and enjoyed 53 years of marriage. One of their favorite pastimes was traveling together. She worked for over fifteen years for Dr. Herzog and then graduated from Nursing School, working at the Renaissance Care Center until she retired due to health problems. Wanda enjoyed helping and working with the Camp Fire Program. For many years she taught 10th grade girls in Sunday school at Grand Ave Baptist Church. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and she was a woman of great faith. She would lean on her Lord through her many years of health issues and gain spiritual strength through each difficulty, leaving a legacy of strong will and determination. Wanda truly loved her family and friends.
Wanda is survived by her sons Scott Truesdell and his wife Brenda, Randy Truesdell and his wife Nicki and daughter Bonnie Schumacher, grandchildren Charity, Amy, Michael, Travis, Brandon, Shaun, Delaney, Claudia, Chloe, Nicholas, Nathan,and Catie, great-grandchildren Ariana, Ava, Spyder, Shade and Ryleigh and sister Nadyne Roberts and brother Gene Owen.
Pallbearers will be Brandon and Shaun Schumacher, Shamus Collins, Marcus Beam, Nathan Noller and Jeff Parker.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard "Dick" Truesdell, sisters Bertha Ellen and Laura and brothers Marvin, Travis and J.T.
