Bernyce Purcell Hurley

Funeral services for Bernyce Purcell Hurley, 95, of Gainesville, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with Rodney Bolejack officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Mrs. Hurley was born October 11, 1917 in Hood to Maxwell L. and Edna Frazier Purcell. She passed away July 19, 2013 in Denton.

Mrs. Hurley married Robert L. “Bob” Hurley on September 4, 1937. She was the long-time secretary at Whaley United Methodist Church and a member of the “Christian Thinkers” Sunday school class there.

Survivors include: son, Bob Hurley of Gilbert, AZ; daughter, Beverly Yeager and husband, Bill of Denton; grandchildren: Robert Leidolf and wife, Kristen of Crosby; Angela England and husband, Chad of College Station; and Bradley Hurley of Humble; and great-grandchildren: Madeline and Emma England and Boone and Sami Leidolf.

Mrs. Hurley is also survived by: special niece, Diane Tippets of Anaheim, CA; sisters-in-law: Betty Henderson of Gainesville and Helen Purcell of Anaheim, CA; and cousin, Carol Felker of Gainesville.

Preceding Mrs. Hurley in death were: her parents; husband, Bob; and brothers: M.L. Purcell, Kenneth Purcell, and Jerry Purcell.
