James Adrian Boaz

Funeral services for James Adrian Boaz, 81, of Gainesville, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with Revs. Hubert Wright and Larry Kremling officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 9 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Boaz was born October 10, 1931 in Grayson County to Adrian Thomas and Lucille Ophelia Boaz.

He passed away August 6, 2013 in Gainesville.

Mr. Boaz served honorably in the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War. James married Carma McKee on Nov. 12, 1950. He was a long-time employee for Harper Oil where he was a welder in the oil field. Mr. Boaz also served as a Deacon at Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include: wife, Carma Boaz; daughter, Debbie Weaver and husband, Keith; son, Jim Boaz; son, Tom Boaz and wife, Wilma; son, Tim Boaz and wife, Pam; daughter, Kim Ward and husband, Tracy; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Boaz is also survived by: sister, Vickie; brother, Larry; aunts, Lois Livingston and Jewel Boaz; sister-in-law, Donna Samek; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Paul Boaz.

Mr. Boaz’s grandsons will be serving as pallbearers.
