Shirley June Reiter

July 8, 1936 — August 29, 2013

Shirley June (Tiller) Reiter, 77, was called to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 29, 2013 after a lengthy illness. She was a housewife and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Victor Cruz officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. A rosary with visitation to follow will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 30, 2013 at the funeral home.

Shirley was born on July 8, 1936 in Gainesville, Tx to Hoyt and Ocie (Selder) Tiller. She attended Gainesville and graduated in 1954. She married Gene Reiter on May 21, 1955 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Shirley is survived by her husband Gene, her three children Cindy Lutkenhaus, Brad Reiter and his wife Connie of Gainesville, and Tim Reiter and his wife Sharon of Allen, Tx. five grandchildren; Jeffrey Lutkenhaus and wife Ileana of Denton, Corey Lutkenhaus and his wife Jade of Muenster, Amy Lutkenhaus of Gainesville, and Joshua and Erika Reiter of Allen, and three great-grandsons Tripp, Tate, and Luke Lutkenhaus.

She is also survived by brother Danny Tiller and wife Sandy of Cibolo, brother David Tiller and wife LaDonna of Gainesville, sister Vickie Hocker and husband Joe of New Braunfels, brother-in-law Doug Reiter and wife Chubby of Gainesville, sister-in-law June Bevans and husband John of Bedford, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Hoyt and Ocie Tiller, and mother-in-law and father-in-law Rose and Toney Reiter.

The family wants to thank Home Hospice of Cooke County for their wonderful assistance and care during this difficult time. The nurses and staff are too numerous to mention. The family would like to personally thank Clara and Kathy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Home Hospice of Cooke County or St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
