Ruby Jo Chilcoat

A funeral service for Ruby Jo Chilcoat, 73, of Gainesville, is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Ralph Gourley officiating.

Mrs. Chilcoat passed away November 21, 2013 in Gainesville.

Mrs. Chilcoat was born in Gainesville on December 31, 1939 to Hass and Cleo Robinson. She was a graduate of Gainesville High School and continued her education, receiving a nursing degree. Mrs. Chilcoat was a nurse at Mercy Memorial Hospital in Ardmore, OK and eventually retired from Hilltop Haven Nursing Home in Gunter. She always kept a beautiful garden and also enjoyed sewing and baking. Mrs. Chilcoat cherished her time spent with family, and especially her grandchildren. Above all, she was a woman of strong Christian faith and set an admirable example for those that knew her.

Survivors include: son, Stuart Chilcoat and wife, Shauna of Whitesboro; daughter, Leah Anderson and husband, Grayson of Fort Worth; grandchildren: John, Sarah, Erin, Kaylee Jo, Grayson, and Landon; sister, Iwana Brodrick of Bakersfield, CA; brother, Charlie Robinson and wife, Ruth of Lake Kiowa; sister, Linda Mitchell of Whitesboro; and brother, Jamie Robinson and wife, Janie of Gainesville.

Mrs. Chilcoat was preceded in death by her parents, Hass and Cleo Robinson.

Memorials in Mrs. Chilcoat’s honor may be made to the Salvation Army.
