Johnnie Joyce Gibson, 64, of Woodbine died in her home on Dec. 11, 2013 under the care of Solaris Hospice.

Johnnie choose not to have a funeral and opted for cremation under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. Her ashes will be released at a location of her choosing.

History:
Johnnie Joyce Gibson was born May 23, 1949 in Sundance Wyo. to Orville and Odessa Cornelison. Her dad, nick-named Burr, being a roughneck in the oil fields resulted in Johnnie spending most of her young life following the rigs from Wyo. to So. Texas. She married Robert Y. Gibson in June 1968 in Cyril Okla. In Sept. of 1971 they were blessed with the birth of their daughter Angela Rae Gibson.

Johnnie Joyce Gibson was a waitress and sometimes cook most of her working life. She was also a volunteer for Cornell University in their migratory bird program.

Johnnie Joyce Gibson is survived by her husband, Robert Y. Gibson of Woodbine; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Chris Thompson; sister Donnie Rich of Cyril, Okla.; brother-in-law Richard Gibson and his wife Doreen of Canyon Lake Cal.; sister-in-law Bette Dobson of Westminster Cal.

She was preceded in death by her parents Orville Cornelison and Odessa Stalling; brother Delbert Stalling; brother-in-law Robert Dobson of Westminster Cal; grandparents Bud and Maudie Pettit of Cyril Okla.
