Gene Edward Cathey

A private graveside service will be held for Gene Edward Cathey, 86, of Richardson, in the New Hope Cemetery.

Gene passed away February 7, 2014 in Richardson.

Mr. Cathey was born September 9, 1927 to James and Ethel Cathey.

Gene is survived by his 3 nieces, Margaret Cathey of Austin, Lynda Farooqi and Cheryl Reed of Mesquite.

Mr. Cathey proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a long time resident of Richardson. He always held a special place in his heart for his nieces.

Gene was preceded in death by his wife Ola Dean Lemons Cathey; 2 brothers, James Lloyd and William Austin Cathey.
